Set in the peaceful countryside of Bancyfelin, The Parlour is a beautifully converted former farm building sleeping four guests. Stylish, spacious and full of character, it’s a fantastic choice for couples, families and four-legged family members, with the coast, countryside walks, Carmarthen, traditional villages and local amenities all within easy reach.

Wake to countryside views, watch red kites soaring overhead, head out with the dogs for a day exploring beaches and walking trails, then return for a BBQ beneath the stars.

Inside The Parlour

Step inside to a bright and welcoming open-plan kitchen and living space, complete with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor.

The well-equipped kitchen has everything needed for home-cooked breakfasts, leisurely lunches and evening meals. Alongside it, the comfortable living area features a two-seater sofa, armchair and reading chair, flatscreen TV and a selection of board games.

Also downstairs is a separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, WC and stainless-steel sink – particularly handy after muddy countryside adventures!

Upstairs

The light-filled first floor has skylight windows bringing plenty of natural light into the rooms.

The main bedroom features a comfortable king-size bed, while the second bedroom is arranged as a twin , making The Parlour ideal for up to four guests.

The family bathroom has a generous walk-in shower with overhead rainfall shower and separate handheld shower. Each upstairs room also has its own radiator.

Outside

Two sets of patio doors lead to the enclosed rear garden, giving you your own outdoor space for a BBQ, alfresco meals or evenings beneath the wonderfully dark rural skies.

At the front, a small patio looks across the surrounding countryside – perfect for your morning coffee while keeping an eye out for rabbits, foxes and magnificent red kites.

Free private parking is provided directly outside.

🐾 Dogs Are Very Welcome

We know holidays are even better when your dogs can come too, so The Parlour is proudly pet friendly.

With an enclosed rear garden and beautiful countryside all around, it makes a great base for guests travelling with their four-legged companions. There are plenty of nearby walks and opportunities to explore the Carmarthenshire countryside and coast together.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. We simply ask that dogs are not allowed upstairs, on beds or on furniture, and that they are not left unattended at the property.

As The Parlour is in a rural farming area, dogs must be kept under proper control around neighbouring fields, livestock and wildlife.

Beaches, Castles & Carmarthenshire

There is so much to discover nearby. Within a short drive you can be heading towards the beautiful Carmarthenshire coastline, exploring sandy beaches, walking beside the Towy Estuary or climbing to historic Llansteffan Castle for wonderful views across the water and surrounding countryside.

Discover Llansteffan, with its beach, coastal walks and village atmosphere, or head towards Laugharne, famous for Dylan Thomas and home to an impressive castle, estuary walks, cafés and traditional pubs.

For shopping, restaurants and everyday essentials, Carmarthen is approximately 7 miles away, with supermarkets, independent shops, cafés and plenty of places to eat. Local shops and essentials can be reached in around 10 minutes.

Good to Know Before Your Stay

The Parlour is reached via a gravel country track, perfectly in keeping with its lovely rural setting. The day before your arrival, we’ll send full directions, including a what3words location, to make finding us as straightforward as possible.

The Parlour is surrounded by beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside, so a car is recommended. The nearest shops and everyday essentials are approximately a 10-minute drive away, while Carmarthen is just over 7 miles away.

You’re also well placed for exploring the area, with the beautiful beach and historic castle at Llansteffan just over 8 miles away, while the historic town of Laugharne is approximately 7.5 miles away.

All bed linen and towels are provided for your stay. If you’re planning a day at the beach, please bring your own beach towels.

There are two other holiday properties at this location: Llwynbrain, sleeping up to 10 guests, and The Dairy, sleeping up to 3 guests with one bedroom and a sofa bed. Each property has its own accommodation and outdoor space.

We kindly ask all guests to be considerate of those staying in the neighbouring properties and to keep noise to a respectful level, particularly during the evening.
